چکیده

Abstract In this chapter we present a MATLAB-based computational pipeline for the quantification of monolayer migration assays. Wound healing assay (or scratch assay) is commonly used in vitro to assess collective cell migration. Our outputs traditional and spatiotemporal readouts that quantify group properties was previously screen included thousands time-lapse sequences. You will learn how execute pipeline, principles behind design implementation choices made, pitfalls, tips, tricks using it.

One-dimensional collective migration of a proliferating cell monolayer.

The importance of collective cellular migration during embryogenesis and tissue repair asks for a sound understanding of underlying principles and mechanisms. Here, we address recent in vitro experiments on cell monolayers, which show that the advancement of the leading edge relies on cell proliferation and protrusive activity at the tissue margin. Within a simple viscoelastic mechanical model ...

A computational pipeline for quantification of mouse myocardial stiffness parameters

The mouse is an important model for theoretical-experimental cardiac research, and biophysically based whole organ models of the mouse heart are now within reach. However, the passive material properties of mouse myocardium have not been much studied. We present an experimental setup and associated computational pipeline to quantify these stiffness properties. A mouse heart was excised and the ...

Spatiotemporal dynamics of microRNA during epithelial collective cell migration.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small, noncoding RNAs variably involved in a wide variety of developmental and regenerative programs. Techniques for monitoring the spatiotemporal expression of miRNA in living cells are essential to elucidate the roles of miRNA during these complex regulatory processes. The small size, low abundance, sequence similarity, and degradation susceptibility of miRNAs, however,...
